1. NPPF Venture Fund
The Venture Fund of NPPF was created to invest in innovative business ideas and start-up(s) in Bhutan. The fund was created with the expectation to create long term value to NPPF, boost economy and innovation spirit in the country and provide access to equity capitals for businesses in operation in the market. The objective or the very purpose of the Venture Fund is to inject capitals in exchange for an equity stake in the business that will not only expand the selected business but add long term value to NPPF. Such investments in potentially viable businesses would provide NPPF with an opportunity to make further investments in the future that are commercially scalable and sustainable.
2. Eligibility criteria
Any entrepreneurs having innovative and scalable business with a minimum operation in the market of 6 months period looking for fund in exchange of an equity stake to expand and scale their business can participate in the NPPF Venture Fund – Series I Platform. That the maximum equity stake/ownership of NPPF in the selected business shall not be more than 50% of the paid-up capital of the business or maximum of Nu.5 million.
3. Selection Procedure
All the qualified entries would go through a rigorous selection (2 rounds of screening until the final round) and validation process. The proposals will be evaluated based on the following broad criteria.
- Genuineness of the requirement of the equity fund in the business expansion and growth - Concrete plan of the use and strategy to deploy the fund raised through this platform. - Market research studies - Target customers - Unique value proposition of the business - Scalability and business expansion scope - Past financial records - Realistic future projections - Management team and expertise available in the firm - Current business challenges and solutions - Capital structure of the business
