- Will
I be getting gratuity also if I take pension?
Yes. You will be getting gratuity as usual along with 41.67% of both the government
and your contribution as PF in lump sum along with interest.
- How
much is my pension?
Your pension is calculated as under:

Where:
i. P. service refers Pensionable Service, which is number of years of service
put in by you as a member. For those of the members who have put in the service
prior to 1976, the service period is counted from 1976 only because the GEPF
contribution was started in 1976.
ii. P. salary refers to pensionable salary which is the average of last 12
months basic salary prior to superannuation
iii. 0.45 refers to 45 % replacement rate payable as pension.
iv. Full working period in the Armed Forces is taken as 27 years
- What
happens if I am disabled or die during the service period?
If you become permanently disabled and is being certified by competent authority
that you cannot perform any gainful activities nor can be employed in any
gainful employment, you will be eligible for disability pension at the rate
of 30% of the normal pension or minimum pension whichever is higher until
your retirement age. When you have attained your retirement age, you will
be paid 50% of the normal pension computed or minimum pension whichever is
higher.
If you die while in service or even while you are in pension, your spouse
and children will be eligible for the benefit. Spouse(s) will be paid at the
rate of 30% of the member’s pension or 60% of the minimum pension whichever
is higher until remarriage, death or attaining 50 years of age. Upon completion
of 50 years, the spouse will be paid 50% of the member’s pension or
60% of the minimum pension whichever is higher.
Children benefit to the minor children will be paid at the rate of 10% of
the member’s pension or 15% of the minimum pension whichever is higher.
In case of death of both your spouse and yourself, the children will be paid
15% of the member’s pension or 30% of the minimum pension per orphan.
Both the children and orphan benefits are limited to three minor children.
- What
happens if I am not married and die?
Your dependent parents will be paid the benefits at the rate of 50% of your
pension or 60% of the minimum pension whichever is higher but your dependent
parent should have crossed at least the minimum civil service retirement age.
- If
I get Nu. 2000 as pension will my pension remain Nu. 2000 until I die?
No. It will be increased at the rate of 2% every year. The increment has been
given to all the other benefits also.
