1. 1962 Gratuity scheme was introduced for government employees.
  2. 1976 The Government introduced government employees’ provident fund (GEPF), then managed by RICB.
  3. 1998 His Majesty the Fourth King commanded the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) to review post-service retirement benefits for civil servants.
  4. 1999 Feasibility studies were carried out by ADB and GWC.
  5. 2000 Establishment of: National Pension and Provident Fund National Pension Board Investment Management and Advisory Committee.
  6. 2002 Pension scheme was formally instituted with the implementation of the National Pension and Provident Fund Plan (NPPFP) and the Armed Forces Pension and Provident Fund Scheme (AFPPFS).
  7. 2004 Launched education loan to help members educate their children and housing loan to make housing affordable.
  8. 2007 RMA licensed NPPF to carry out limited credit operations to expand investment opportunity. Joined the International Social Security Association.
  9. 2010 Launched student loan scheme.
