The National Pension and Provident Fund (NPPF) currently manages over 67,000 members from the civil service, armed forces, corporate entities, and private companies — a number that continues to grow annually. With this increasing membership base, updating and maintaining accurate member records has become a critical operational challenge. To ensure compliance with NPPF’s rules and regulations, members and employing agencies are requested to extend their cooperation by adhering to the following guidelines: Advice to Members: Update your PF nominee details by filling in the spouse, children and nomination updating form and attach relevant documents mentioned in the form. (You can find the form here: UPDATION FORM) Submit a confirmation letter by the member whether to continue in the same PF account after resigning from one agency and join another agency or continue service in the same agency within 5 working days of PF contribution date. If the member fails to inform NPPF within 5 working days of PF contribution deposit, the member’s PF contribution will be continued in the same account number and NPPF will not entertain any requests for claim for the old PF account thereafter. Advice to Employing Agencies: To submit enrolment forms of new employees to NPPF within 5 working days after the employee joins the service. This must be done before depositing PF contribution. Subsequently, NPPF will send NPPF PF account number to the member’s agency to update their system. To submit an appointment letter clearly stating whether the employee is recruited as a regular or on contract. To inform NPPF about the change in employment type (from regular to contract or vice versa) by submitting appointment letters within 5 working days of effective date of change in employment type. To deposit any penalty charged on late PF contribution deposit within 5 working days on receipt of penalty letter from NPPF. To clearly state the relieving nature of the member in the relieving/separation order. (Voluntary Resignation, Superannuation, Compulsory Retirement, Termination, Demise). Any new agency required to deduct PF with NPPF must inform NPPF about their establishment and send the required documents. All member agencies must deposit the PF contribution and send the PF contribution schedule as per PF remittance format available on the NPPF website before 10th of the following month. Any EOL or Non-contributory period to be notified to NPPF immediately.
